Rainbow Six Extraction is just around the corner, and if multiplayer action is your thing, this is one to watch.
It was the first game up on the slate at tonight’s Ubisoft Forward, part of E3 2021. We got a bombastic video trailer, a bit of new information, and a look at gameplay. We also got a release date: you’ll be able to get your hands on Rainbow Six Extraction on 16th September. It’s coming to practically all formats: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Stadia.
Playable solo or in up to 3-player co-op, Rainbow Six Extraction will support crossplay, so you can play with your friends regardless of your platform. You’ll be working together to face off against an alien threat that comes in multiple freaky forms. There are aliens that form out of goo on the ground; there are Clicker-like Breachers, and all kinds of terrifying other forms to keep you on your toes.
You’ll have many operators to choose from, each with their own skills and gear to be unlocked. One of your operators fall in a mission? You’ll not be able to play them again until they’ve been recovered – it’s a little like Watch Dogs Legion in that respect.
There are three locations that you’ll be playing Rainbow Six Extraction in: New York, San Francisco and Alaska. That means three very different environments, and plenty of variety when it comes to missions and maps.
It looks fantastic, and there’s some seriously impressive enemy designs on show. As to be expected, it looks to be a graphical step up from Rainbow Six Siege – and certainly a step up in design and ingenuity.
But don’t let us do all the talking; watch the video for yourself below and see what to expect. We’ll have ore on Rainbow Six Extraction as its September 16th release draws closer.
