Capcom Has Confirmed Resident Evil Village DLC is in Development

Capcom has confirmed that more Resident Evil Village is on the way! Hurrah!

At least, that was our train of thought last night when, during their E3 livestream, Capcom revealed that downloadable content was indeed in the works for the latest entry in the Resident Evil series. So what’s the catch? The catch is that they haven’t announced what form that DLC will take.

It could be that they’re working on extra content for the Village’s Mercenaries mode but, while we know some people are huge fans of that mode, we don’t think it needs an injection of extra content. We would, however, love to see Village get some new stand-alone stories, in the vein of the Maiden demo.

Take the characters you meet in Village’s er, village. When did they first know something had gone horribly wrong? What happened to the drunk arsehole to make him a drunk arsehole? Did he lose a loved one? What about Luisa herself? There are so many small stories to be told, so why shouldn’t Village explore some of them?

Capcom plans to reveal more details later; we’ll update you as soon as we have new information. In the meantime, you can check out our Resident Evil Village review.
