There are a handful of popular streamer mics on the market, but a new competitor has just landed.
This week, EPOS has launched the B20, a microphone aimed at game streamers but one that boasts ‘studio broadcast quality’. It’s compatible with PC, Mac and PS4, and is available now.
It’s the first microphone from EPOS, although the premium brand has put out a number gaming headsets, both under its own brand and in collaboration with Sennheiser. We reviewed the EPOS H3 wired headset recently and praised its build quality and sound. So it’s easy to imagine the B20 mic will carry over the same ethos of quality.
With a sleek black metal design, the B20 has fully integrated audio controls for ease of recording. You can change volume and gain on the fly, and there’s a handy mute button for when you don’t want to be heard. LED indicators are built-in, so you know at a glance whether or not the mic is listening.
The EPOS B20 has four ranges to choose from: cardiod, stereo, bidirectional and omnidirectional. Each one will change how and where sound is picked up depending on what kind of recording you are doing. Whether you’re speaking directly into it or wanting to pick up the voices of several people in a room, there’s a suitable setting.
The EPOS B20 is available now from EPOS’ official website and select retailers. It’s priced at £179/$199.
