Fallout: London, an unofficial total conversion for Fallout 4, will bring a British flavour to the post-apocalyptic action-RPG.
It’s not clear whether that “British flavour” will include the misguided belief that the country is somehow still a global superpower. But we will be disappointed if there isn’t a couple of satirical jabs in there, like an island of floppy-haired settlers who are starving to death because they’re better off on their own.
Fallout: London already has a trailer and looks set to be more than just a facelift. As explained on the official website, there are a wealth of factors the eleven strong team is taking into account. For example, there’s be no Vault-Tec, and guns are harder to come by so there’ll be a greater reliance on melee weapons. There’ll also be a wealth of new London-exclusive creatures, with not a Deathclaw in sight.
Size-wise, Fallout: London will be the size of the main Fallout 4 map, which will you the chance to visit different districts, though we expect the city as a whole to be significantly scaled down. In particular, we’re looking forward to poking around the underground, fending off ghouls with a crowbar or whatever can get our hands on. Some of the team are British so Fallout: London shouldn’t drift too far into Mary Poppins territory.
So how and when can you get your hands on Fallout: London? For a start, you’ll need the PC version of Fallout 4; even though the PS4 and Xbox One version of Fallout 4 support mods, it’s currently not practical to bring a total conversion to consoles. As for when? There’s unfortunately no release date, which we can understand as the team are all volunteers. But based on what we’ve seen so far, we’re happy to wait for Fallout: London to bring the apocalypse to these shores.
