Publisher Frontier Foundry and developer Okomotive have announced that FAR: Changing Tides, a follow-up to FAR: Lone Sails, is in development.
Shown off during tonight’s PC Gaming Show, FAR: Changing Tides is scheduled for a late 2021 release. It’s coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
While FAR: Lone Sails had players journeying through dusty, dry deserves, its follow-up instead takes you to the deep blue waves of the ocean. You’ll be in control of hero Toe, and when you meet him he’ll be trapped, on the brink of drowning. However, after finding an abandoned ship, Toe’s journey to safety can begin, with you at the helm.
This isn’t a direct sequel to Lone Sails. Instead, it builds on what that game set out to do, offering something familiar but still new and exciting. Needless to say, if you played Okomotive’s first game you’ll find yourself right at home here, with similar controls, game systems and the same beautiful art style. And if you’re new to the series, worry not; it doesn’t require you to have any knowledge of the first game as it’s a completely new experience.
