It’s June! That means we’re almost half way through the year. It also means you’re going to have a lot of new games to play.
We don’t know why publishers do it. It’s June, it’s E3 month – the month where we’re bombarded with new announcements – and yet there are still more new games coming out than we can shake a stick at. Overload, much?
Still, we aren’t going to complain about plenty of great games to play. If we have time to play them all, that is. We’ve picked out some of the games we’re most looking forward to below, but rest assured this isn’t an exhaustive list.
Necromunda: Hired Gun
- Release date: 1st June
- Formats: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC
Out today, right now, this moment, is Necromunda: Hired Gun. It’s a fast-paced and frenetic action shooter that looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. Especially if you’re a fan of over-the-top videogame violence. We know we are. Look out for our review of this soon.
Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown
- Release date: 1st June

Another game out today is Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown. It’s a remaster of the classic fighting game, complete with enhanced visuals and a new focus on online competition. As familiar characters, you’ll set out on an adventure-filled journey to recover the legendary ‘Staff of Doom’.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2

We thoroughly enjoyed Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts back in 2019, and so we have pretty high hopes for its sequel. It promises more high-octane sniping action but with shinier visuals and a new extreme-range sniping feature. We previewed the game last month and praised its wealth of content, loadout customisation, and added accessibility features.

With various gameplay options ranging from a straight game of golf to crazy mode with power-ups and races involved, there’s plenty of fun to be had here.
