Kerbal Space Program, which lets you create your own rockets, is heading to Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. What could possibly go wrong?
The answer is “An awful, awful lot”, but half the fun of Kerbal Space Program, just messing up and learning from your mistakes. The game previously launched on PC, Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 but the next-gen release, which will be free to anyone with the existing console version, promises to make failure a lot prettier.
It’s no coincidence that Kerbal’s next-gen release is being announced right now. It’s the game’s tenth anniversary and, to commemorate this, PC players will also be on the receiving end of some in-game goodies. On top of that, publishers Private Division and developers Squad will be involved in some online events. You can find more details about these events by following the Kerbal Space Program Twitter.
As for the upgrade? While Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 rocket scientists can leap into the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version of the game, the next-gen upgraded version won’t arrive until this Fall. For now, you can read our review and check out this 10th Anniversary video to see what awaits you.
