Lovecraft-Inspired Sci-Fi RPG Dolmen Wants to Scare You in 2022

Dolmen

Prime Matter, Koch Media’s new publishing arm, has announced Dolmen, an action RPG set in a sci-fi horror universe, coming in 2022.

Dolmen is being developed by Massive Work Studio, a Brazil-based team who have been working on the game since 2017. Inspired by Lovecraft with influences from modern pop culture, Dolmen is set in a hostile sci-fi world where players will have to fight to survive.

As an action RPG, players can expect to fight against terrifying bosses and other foes while trying to stay alive in a world that wants them dead. While action may be the focus, a narrative runs through Dolmen, centring around a mysterious crystal – the titular ‘Dolmen’.

Dolmen has an interesting production history – two Kickstarters have been set up for the game. The first, in 2018, failed to reach its goal. But the second, which ended in September 2020, was 135% funded, raising just over $20,000 from 585 backers. But now, with Prime Matter behind publishing the game, the scope can be seriously expanded.

The game is slated for a 2022 release and will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Physical and digital versions will be available across all formats.
