The Fermi Paradox is set to enter Early Access this July 1st, charging you with some galaxy-ruining, sorry, “galaxy-changing” decisions.
As revealed by the trailer, one of the decisions you’ll potentially get to make is whether a species follows a path of enlightment and research or goes on a world-conquering galactic rampage. Maybe you should be making the galaxy a happy, lovely place, but will the lure of war prove too much for you?
The Fermi Paradox is still a while off final release. Developers Anomaly Games have stated that the game will be in Early Access for approximately a year and have added new writers to the project, including people who’ve worked on Horizon: Zero Dawn and the original Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. Though, knowing how things are going, they’re probably glad they didn’t end up on Bloodlines 2.
We can well understand the need to harvest good writing talent; the game casts you as a “galactic gardener”, meaning that while you’ll get to make God-like decisions, affecting the course of a species’ development, you won’t get to micro-manage them. If you decide to lead a civilization to war, you’ll have to live with the consequences. Quality writing will be an important factor in making you appreciate the impact of your decisions; we’re looking forward to feeling like absolute swines.
The Fermi Paradox hits Steam Early Access this July 1st. You can wishlist it now and check out the trailer above.
