Won’t be able to attend a real-life music festival this year? Don’t worry; The Sims 4 is here to fill the void in your summer schedule.
EA has just announced Sims Sessions, a in-game festival event featuring real artists. From Tuesday 29th June until Wednesday 7th July, players of The Sims 4 will be able to visit an in-game music festival location. On the digital stage will be Bebe Rexha, Glass Animals and Joy Oladokun.
It won’t just be a case of sitting back and listening to the music, either. Sims Sessions introduces an all-new location to the game, allowing you to mingle with others, buy merchandise, eat festival snacks, and even run your own craft sales stall.
And, like any real festival, the experience wouldn’t be complete without camping. You’ll have the opportunity to sleep in a tent – or, you know, partake in a bit of woohoo with that cute person you met in front of the stage.
Attendees will even have the chance to go on stage themselves once the performances are over. You’ll be able to tinker with the piano and belt out a song – you might want to gain a few more music skill points beforehand, though…
Not familiar with the artists who’ll be performing at Sims Sessions? Here’s what you need to know.
- Bebe Rexha is a two-time Grammy nominated country artist from NYC. Her debut album Expectations released in 2018, which featured the hit singles I’m a Mess and Meant to Be. The latter of those held the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 50 weeks (a record!). She’s not only a performer, she’s an award-winning songwriter too. Remember The Monster by Eminem and Rihanna? Bebe Rexha wrote that. Listen to her here.
- Glass Animals are a UK-based group of four, made up of Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Ed Irwin-Singer and Joe Seaward. They’ve been around since 2014, when they released their debut album ZABA. They made it into the big league, however, with their smash hit Heat Waves in 2020, which has had millions of streams since its launch. They’ve also made appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden and Ellen. Listen to them here.
- Joy Oladokun is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter and producer based in Nashville. She’s been referred to as “a new kind of American troubadour”, and her tracks are most often accompanied by piano or acoustic guitar. If you’ve watched This is Us, Grey’s Anatomy or The L Word: Generation Q, you’ve likely heard her music. She’s also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Sims Sessions will be available free to anyone who owns The Sims 4 base game. You can access it on PC, Xbox or PlayStation once the update goes live on Tuesday 29th June.
