This isn’t a Jedi mind-trick: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out on next-gen consoles from today.
First released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an epic third-person adventure that throws you deep into the Star Wars universe. We loved it when we first played it, praising its epic setpieces and combat that really did make us feel like a Jedi. And from today, if you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, the experience has just got better than ever. It’s now available physically and digitally on those formats, with improvements and optimisations.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order boasts improved framerates and higher resolution textures and assets. It now plays in 4K with 60fps performance, and will load significantly faster than previous generation versions.
Better yet, if you already own Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on PS4 and Xbox One, you can upgrade to the relevant next-generation version for free. If you own it digitally on Xbox, your Xbox Series X/S console will automatically download the best version thanks to Smart Delivery. If you own it digitally on PS4, you’ll be able to click a button to claim the PS5 version. The same is true if you have a disc on either format.
Interestingly, EA is also offering a free upgrade if you own a disc but own a discless next-generation console (i.e. an Xbox Series S, or PS5 Digital Edition). It’s a service so far unheard of, and requires you to fill in a form and provide some proof of purchase details. On doing so, EA says it will provide you with a digital code for the next-gen version.
