Chernobylite’s new trailer features the woman your character thinks is worth roaming a radioactive zone for.
“Tatyana”, the newest trailer for survival horror RPG Chernobylite, is narrated by the character herself who, muses over the reasons Chernobyl’s exclusion zone is so messed up, before encouraging your protagonist to mess around with time travel. The latter might seem like a terrible, terrible idea but Tatyana is in fact your character’s lost love so they’ve got the motivation to mess around with the fabric of space and time.
The trailer also hints that the potential futility of your quest, suggesting that your actions create a new reality, dubbed the “Trousers of Time” by the late, great Terry Pratchett. So if you do manage to recover Tatyana, she may not be “your” Tatyana, she could be a version of herself that’s never met you, if you’re lucky. If you’re unlucky, she could draw you in for a kiss then vomit a wave of mutated spiders down your throat.
That said, the absolute strangest thing about the trailer, which you can watch below, is that Tatyana sounds western, either American or Canadian. Make of that what you will.
Chernobylite has been in Steam Early Access since October 2019 but the final game is set to launch this July on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
