Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles (try saying that after a few pints) is arriving on PC and consoles this October.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a game based upon the popular Demon Slayer anime series, which itself sprung from a hugely popular Japanese manga comic. The series and, by extension, the game, follow the exploits of Tanjiro Kamado who, after his family are slaughtered by demons, decides to dedicate his life to divorcing their heads from their respective shoulders.
Demon Slayer has also spawned a between-season film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, which will feed into the game itself. You won’t be hopping on an evil Thomas the Tank however, because Demon Slayer is an arena fighter. So, instead of going full Devil May Cry you’ll be taking on foes one-by-one.
You will, however, be able to tackle the game’s adventure mode, play as different characters from the series and take on human players locally or online. One particularly neat touch is that the game uses the same voice-actors as the anime series and the movie, so fans of either (or both) should be right at home.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will be released for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 on October 15th, though those who purchase the Digital Deluxe edition of the game will get it two days earlier.
