Bandai Namco Reveals Tales of Arise’s Opening Movie

Are you looking forward to Tales of Arise? You’re still going to have to wait till September but Bandai Namco have revealed this action-RPG’s anime-style opening.

Tales of Arise sees you struggling to free your medieval-style land, Dahna from the infinitely more advanced Rena, who treat your fellow inhabitants like slaves. And, based on what we’ve seen of Arise’s animated intro, it’s not going to be easy.

True, you wouldn’t normally take a show or game’s intro as concrete proof of how events are going to unfold. But the fact that this gorgeous animation (created by anime studio Ufotable) sees you facing down a woman on a gigantic battleship has us a little worried.

There’s more to the intro than the admittedly cool animation, however. It also sports a rousing ballad by Japanese rock band Kankaku Piero. The song, Hibana, is probably about succeeding against overwhelming odds but it’s a little hard to make out the individual words.

We’re fairly sure there’s a line about biting clouds and another about stopping a selfish bee. Why not have a listen above and see if you think we’re right? You can pre-order Tales of Arise for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X and get your hands on it when it arrives this September 10th.
