Control, Remedy’s highly acclaimed action-adventure game is getting a sequel.
That’s the good news; the bad news is the sequel is a long way off. After loving the hell out of Control we were so, so ready for a follow-up. And, as revealed by an investor report from developers Remedy, they’ll be collaborating with publishers 505 Games to deliver “a bigger-budget Control-game, to be agreed in more detail in the future.”
So, right now, Control’s sequel exists only as a proposal between the companies. However, 505 Games and Remedy have also agreed to co-operate on Condor, a multiplayer Control spin-off which, from the tone of the investor report, is more of a sure thing.
Condor will be 4 player “player vs environment” game, which sounds like you’ll be joining forces to take on the various enemies and artefacts that the Federal Bureau of Control fights to contain. If Condor can be half as imaginative as the original Control we’re definitely up for dabbling its multiplayer world, even though it’s not something we’ve ever really craved.
Condor doesn’t have a release date as yet – don’t count on seeing it next year either – but it’ll be landing on the PC, Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5.
