Currently available via Steam Early Access, the dark, post-apocalyptic fantasy RPG Vagrus –The Riven Realm has just received a formidable combat upgrade.
The ‘Target Acquired’ update brings multiple improvements to Vagrus – The Riven Realm‘s strategic turn-based combat. Area targeting is now an option, for example, and you can also switch skills without having to select your target again. Those who like playing with just a keyboard will also be happy to hear that the experience has been improved for them.
Players who like to avoid violent combat also benefit from the update, thanks to refinements made to the game’s Appeasement system. By searching the world for valuable charms and tools you might be able to avoid a bloody battle, saving your skin for another day. Not everyone will want to bargain with their enemies, of course, but it’s now more viable than ever.
You can find the full list of changes introduced the ‘Target Acquired’ update for Vagrus – The Riven Realm right here. And if you’ve not yet played the game yet but the update has piqued your interest, why not give it a go for free? Vagrus – The Riven Realm: Prologue is to download on Steam right now at no cost, and it’s a good way to introduce yourself to the game. The developers even suggest you play the prologue before buying the Early Access version, as the heavy nature of the narrative and challenging combat won’t be for everyone.
