DreamsCom ’21 is coming and it’s set to take place in Dreams.
DreamsCom is a celebration of Dreams, the PlayStation-based games development that can be used to create anything from digital dioramas to full games. It’s not suitable for creating something as massive as, say Grand Theft Auto, but we’ve seen some absolutely amazing things created in Dreams.
DreamsCom21, this year’s celebration, will have a special preview livestream, which will take place on Tuesday 27th July at 5PM BST on MediaMolecule’s Twitch channel. Then, from 28th July to 30th July, there’ll be announcements, developer sessions and more on the channel. Given that Coronavirus is still af factor, no matter how much of a hurry people are in to whip off their masks, that’s understandable.
But the real surprise is that DreamsCom ’21 will have booths, which you can visit.. in Dreams. Yes, instead of just ditching the floor-roaming element of E3 and their ilk, MediaMolecule are letting community creators craft their own booths inside Dreams which players can then roam around.
Even better, it’s not too late to get involved. MediaMolecule have created a booth template and, by following the instructions on their DreamsCom ’21 page, you could end up gracing the virtual show floor. If you’re a Dreams creator, what have you got to lose?
Dreams is available right now for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
