Want to avoid the random battles you encounter while exploring in Cris Tales? Here’s what you need to know.
Those random encounters can be rather annoying when you’re trying to get from A to B in Cris Tales. They’re rather frequent – and while gaining XP and extra money is always nice, sometimes the fights are just too frequent. Thankfully, there’s a way to turn them off. Sort of.
Unfortunately, you’ll not be able to avoid random battles straight away. Though it’s probably for the best – skipping too many of them means you’ll be under-levelled when it comes to fighting bosses. There’s no way to disable them in the options, but you can avoid random battles by equipping a certain piece of equipment.
Around half-way through the game you’ll be able to purchase a ring called the Distortion Ring. When you equip it, you’ll no longer be interrupted with random battle encounters. It’s available once you reach the lava city, and from that point you may stumble across it in a chest. If you want to buy it, it’ll cost 18,000 Marbles.
Up until that point, there’s unfortunately no way to avoid random battle encounters. You can escape once you’re in a battle – press down to reveal the option – but it’s not foolproof; sometimes you won’t be able to get away.
