Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water now has an October release date.
Known as Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water outside of Europe, this survival horror game sees you using your camera to take pictures of ghosts, thereby draining them of their spectral energy. It originally saw the light of day on the Wii U and, well, stayed there. The version of the game we’re getting now is a remaster, giving Maiden of Black Water to a chance to haunt other platforms.
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water has been given an October 28th release date (yes, they missed out releasing on on October 31st), when it’ll land on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). It’ll be a digital release across all platforms but we’d expect Limited Run or some other company to produced a boxed release.
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water will be missing the use of the Wii U’s gamepad screen though, if we’re honest, it’s hard to think of a game where the second screen actually mattered. Plus, this version will come with a photo mode where you can make your own spooky dioramas using any ghost from the game so we’re definitely here for that.
Will it be any good, though? You’ll have to wait till this October 28th to find out. If we get our hands on it we’ll share your thoughts, along with way too many “Maiden of Brown Water” jokes.
