Rainbow Six Extraction has been pushed back till 2022.
It’s turning into delay season with the news that another Ubisoft title has been pushed back. In this case, it’s Rainbow Six Extraction which, originally set for a September release, now won’t be gunning down aliens till 2022.
Extraction’s angle, though it’s still set in the Rainbow Six universe, is that an alien infection has been unleashed on the world. Instead of pitching teams against teams, this tactical shooter has a team of three blasting their way around infested locations in an effort to collect intel, gather samples and so forth. Yes, you’ll probably get to kick doors in but those doors will be coated by stringy alien goo.
So why the delay? Ubisoft have stated that they are:
“Embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves.” In short, it’s not up to scratch so they’re spend more time to give it extra polish. If all goes according to plan, Rainbow Six Extraction will arrive on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna this coming January but if there are any additional delays we’ll keep you posted.
