PlayStation mascots Ratchet & Clank now come in LEGO form – thanks to LEGO Ideas user PeeDeeZee!
This new project , submitted to LEGO Ideas just yesterday, 8th July, features brick-built models of everyone’s favourite lombax, Ratchet, and his robot companion Clank.
If you’re unfamiliar with LEGO Ideas, it’s a community that anyone can join. LEGO builders create their own designs, and submit them to the LEGO Ideas website. They’re then subject to voting by the rest of the community. If a set gets enough votes (10,000), it’ll then be reviewed by a panel of LEGO employee judges. From each review, at least one set will be chosen to be made into an official LEGO set.
What’s great about PeeDeeZee’s model is that both characters have poseable limbs. Even better, it looks as though Clank is designed to attach to Ratchet’s back; the way the pair typically move around together. We particularly love Ratchet’s expressive face – his huge eyes give him buckets of personality.
In the description, the designer says they’re planning to add some of the duo’s wacky weapons to the model too, but they’d like some ideas of which they could include. If you’re familiar with the Ratchet & Clanks series of videogames, you’ll know it’s famous for its huge selection of weird and wonderful weaponry. Go leave a comment if you have a particular weapon you’d like to see PeeDeeZee include.
We’d love to see LEGO Ideas Ratchet & Clank come to life. At the time of writing, the model has 47 supporters, with 58 days left to reach 100 supporters. At 100, its time will get extended by a full year. Ultimately, it needs to amass 10,000 votes of support before it’ll be considered by LEGO to become a retail model.
