Weird West Rides Onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One This Fall

Weird West

Weird West, previously a PC-only title, is now getting a console release.

Weird West, not to be confused with any box-office duffer of a similar name, is an upcoming action-RPG set in a skewed version of the old West. It sees your oddball heroes, each with their own story and quest, taking on all manner of supernatural foes. There’s gunslinging, as you might expect, but turning a werewolf and ripping people apart is also very much on the menu.

Now, developer WolfEye Studios and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that the game will be gracing consoles, launching simultaneously alongside the PC version. It’ll be arriving on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One though, thanks to backwards compatibility, you’ll also be able to tackle the west’s worst on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

That said, no matter what platform you play it on, we wouldn’t count on everyone getting a happy ending. We’ve played enough grim and gritty RPGs to know that a protagonist’s past always catches up with them. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Weird West sport a noble sacrifice or two in there; the game’s developers have at least promised decisions that can’t be undone with just a reload.

There’s no concrete release date for Weird West but it will be arriving some time this Fall. In the meantime, you can wishlist it on Steam and check out the above trailer for a taster.
