Frostpunk 2 has been announced and our heads are awash with 2 Fast 2 Furious jokes.
But we’re sure someone’s already beaten us to that gag, so we’ll stick to saying that we’re seriously looking forward to the follow up to 11 bit studios’ original survival smash.
Like Frostpunk, Frostpunk 2 will take place in a world where global temperatures have plummeted, leaving you in charge of a city of very chilly survivors. Fail to keep your populace warm enough and they’ll either die, overthrow you, or overthrow you then die.
One key difference between Frostpunk and Frostpunk 2 is that, set 30 years after the original, it’s oil, not coal, that you need to conserve and running out of it will be absolute death sentence. Other than that, we don’t know an awful lot about the game, though 11 bit promises to deliver “an experience that goes vastly beyond that of the original Frostpunk“.
We certainly got a kick out of the original Frostpunk, calling it a “a wonderful winter wonderland filled with tough choices” and, while it launched on PC, it later made the jump to consoles. You check out the announcement trailer below and, while there’s no release date as yet, you can wishlist Frostpunk 2 on Steam.
