So, you’ve got yourself a PS5 and are eager to play Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on it. We don’t blame you – it’s a great game.
If you’ve previously played the PS4 version, however, you don’t have to start from scratch. If you want to continue your progress or quickly jump into the new Iki Island expansion, you can easily transfer your PS4 save into Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on PS5 without any fuss.
To import your PS4 Ghost of Tsushima save into the PS5 version, simply make sure your PS4 save is stored locally in your PS5’s storage – there’s no need to download the PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima to upload your save from there. To get your PS4 save on your PS5’s local storage, you can either download it if you have PS Plus, or use a USB stick to move it from your PS4 console onto your PS5.
With your PS4 Ghost of Tsushima save on your PS5, simply launch Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut and head to the game’s title screen. From there, select the “Transfer PS4 Console Save” option, and you should be able to import it. Just make sure that if you already have a game in progress on PS5, that you choose to create a new save when importing your data.
