Released earlier this summer as a PlayStation console exclusive, Oddworld: Soulstorm is also making its way to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Oddworld: Soulstorm is the latest game in the long-running Oddworld series, which sees players take on the role of Abe as he tries to rescue his fellow Mudokons. You see, the Mudokens’ home planet has ben overtaken by Glukkons, a brutal species intent on enslaving all Mudokens to a miserable live of servitude. Not if Abe has anything to do with it.
A platform-puzzle game, Oddworld: Soulstorm tasks you with traversing environments, taking on enemies and outsmarting them with your unique skills. For the first time in the series, Soulstorm also lets players loot and craft, allowing you to use a range of new and useful weapons and items.
We didn’t review Oddworld: Soulstorm ourselves, but it received mixed reviews overall, with the PS5 version having a Metascore of 66. There are plenty of high scores, but lower-scoring reviews criticised the game for feeling weak in comparison to the original.
Still, if you’re an Xbox gamer and are curious about Abe’s latest adventure, you’ll eventually be able to play Oddworld: Soulstorm on your platform of choice. There’s no release date yet, but it’s in development for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
