Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is Arriving on PlayStation 4 and 5

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

That’s not might not seem like a surprise given that the original Oxenfree was released on the PlayStation 4. But, given that the game was shown off as part of Nintendo’s Indie stream and only sported the Nintendo Switch and Steam logos, we were beginning to wonder if it was a Switch console exclusive.

We now know that’s not the case, as confirmed by Sony yesterday. We loved the original Oxenfree, calling it a “rather unique adventure game filled with interesting methods of interaction and some pretty shocking moments”. It gets even more entertaining when you play it through a second time, knowing what you already know, so we’re definitely up for a sequel.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals follows the story of Riley Poverly, a researcher who arrives on the Camena, the island where the previous game’s protagonist tuned into some very otherworldly signals. Lost Signals is a narrative-driven adventure, so it should make your words count. That said, we’re also looking forward to seeing what happens if you say absolutely nothing. Playing Oxenfree, we got a real kick out of freaking NPCs out by keeping quiet.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is set for a 2021 release and while there’s not a specific date as yet, the deeply eerie trailer should tide you over for now.
