With the time-looping adventure two days away from release, Twelve Minutes has a launch trailer.
If you want to go in absolutely cold, you might want to give the trailer a miss, but it doesn’t reveal any huge spoilers. The previous video went behind the scenes but this is aimed at whetting your appetite for this Thursday’s release. It shows off the performances of all three characters, the protagonist, his wife and their unexpected visitor, voiced by James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley and Willem Dafoe respectively.
It also offers a teaser of some of the fates that can befall the characters, albeit temporarily since, your character is reliving the same day over and over and over again. It also confirms that he’s the only one aware of the loop, which should make for some interesting Groundhog Day style conundrums, though Twelve Minutes is anything but comedy.
So how do you get your hands on Twelve Minutes? You’ll be able to buy it on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC (via Steam) this Thursday 19th August, but it’ll also land on Xbox Game Pass the same day so if you’re a subscriber you’ll be able to play it free on all three platforms.
There’s no word on a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 release but we wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually arrives on that platform after whatever exclusivity agreement Microsoft has with developer Luis Antonio and publisher Annapurna Interactive expires.
