Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, the remastered and expanded version of Hideo Kojima’s genre defying experience for PS5, has a new and final trailer.
Set to the track Goliath by Woodkid, the final trailer for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is as cinematic as you’d expect. It blends the old with the new, no doubt bringing memories of the original game back to the forefront for some while also offering a taste of what’s to come. And for those who have never played Death Stranding before, it’s a tantalising taste of the unique experience that’s ahead of them if they decide to embark upon it on PS5.
What may intrigue some about the trailer is that it’s captured on PS5 in “Widescreen Mode”. Does that mean that the PS5 is finally getting support for ultra widescreen resolutions, or is it just a feature found within Death Stranding: Director’s Cut? We’ll have to wait and see.
We were unsure what to make of Death Stranding when it released on PS4 back in 2019. We enjoyed its crazy story, brilliant soundtrack and exploring its world to a large extent. But sometimes it felt like a slog. This Director’s Cut looks like it will go some way to reduce our frustrations, what with its bike ramps, robot assistants and jetpack, so we’re very keen to delve into it once again.
Other new content to be found in Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, which launches 24th September exclusively on PS5, includes additional action-packed missions and even races. So, whether you’ve played the original Death Stranding or not, it’s bound to be tempting for PS5 owners. And those who own the game on PS4 can upgrade to the Director’s Cut for a small cost. Check out the final trailer below.
