Switch owners, take your positions.
Today, Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct is airing tomorrow. Not a Direct Mini, not an indie showcase; a proper, full-fat Nintendo Direct. You know what that means: a whole host of new game announcements, and maybe – just maybe – a release date or two for some games we already know are in the pipeline.
Announced via Twitter earlier today, the Nintendo Direct will be around 40 minutes long, focusing “mainly on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter”. That means it’ll mainly be games launching before March 2022. Stuff to look forward to in the near future, then.
If you’re in the UK, it’ll be available to watch via YouTube tomorrow, 23rd September at 11pm. (Make sure you’ve had a sneaky afternoon nap beforehand!) That’s 6pm ET/3pm PT.
As for what games we expect to be showcased? We’re hoping for more information on Breath of the Wild‘s sequel, but we also don’t expect that to launch this winter, so it seems unlikely. A new character for Smash Bros. Ultimate feels like a shoe-in, however, as a standard fixture of any Nintendo Direct of recent years.
We’ll follow up tomorrow night with everything that was announced, so be sure to keep an eye on GameSpew’s homepage.
