The Legend of Tianding Arrives on Nintendo Switch and PC This November

Legend of Tianding

Fancy playing as a Tiawanese Robin Hood? The Legend of Tianding, arriving this November, could be right up your street.

Actually, that’s not entirely fair. Liao Tanding actually existed, unlike Robin Hood who was almost certainly a myth. That said, whether his reputation is deserved is down to speculation; he went from being a petty criminal to a major folk hero. And now you can step into his shoes and dole out some justice.

The Legend of Tianding was revealed a while back but it’s now got a concrete release date, November 1st. It’s a side scrolling brawler which, casting you as Liao Tanding, sees you rebelling against Japan. Why Japan? Because The Legend of Tianding is set at the turn of the 18th century, when Taiwan had ceded to Japan, putting the island under Japanese rule.

You’ll be doing an awful lot of bounding about, along with quite a bit of slashing. Due in part to the animation style, The Legend of Tianding reminds us of the original Prince of Persia, though we’re hoping death is a little less frequent than in Jordan Mechner’s game.

You can check out the trailer above and get your hands on The Legend of Tianding when it launches on Switch and PC (via Steam) this November 1st.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
