Fancy jumping into the body of an OAP then punching a fascist in the face? Watch Dogs: Legion should be right up your street and it’s free to play this weekend.
It’s certainly the closest we’re going to get to an actual SuperGran game, though we’ve still to spot a Scunner Campbell lookalike. 80s TV nostalgia aside, we gave Watch Dogs: Legion an outstanding 9 out of 10 when we reviewed it and if you’ve yet to experience this open world, hacking-heavy action-adventure you can dive into it for the grand total of zero pounds and zero pence.
The free weekend kicks off Friday September 3rd and ends Monday September 4th, across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Google Stadia. You’ll also be able to purchase the full game at a substantial discount, at least 50% off.
The free weekend won’t include the recent Bloodline episode, but you will be able to grapple with Watch Dogs: Legion of the Dead, the game’s new zombie mode. You can play solo or multiplayer, though you need to be online to do so; it fills the streets of London with the living dead and while the zombies can only run in short bursts, their numbers make them formidable. Even if zombies aren’t your thing, just being able to recruit most NPCs, albeit with a little work, is a lot of fun.
You can find out the full details of the free weekend at Ubisoft’s website.
