Back 4 Blood is a week and a half way from release so whet your appetite for its impending arrival, there’s a new trailer.
Back 4 Blood is to all intents and purposes Left 4 Dead 3, so much so that we’ve accidentally typed Back 4 Dead twice alone today. It’s a team shooter that pitches you and three other players, either AI bots or human players, against a horde of zombies, sorry, “ridden” and their various mutations.
We tackled a beta version of Back 4 Blood in August, and had a blast, though it’s worth noting that while you can play the campaign mode solo, you still need to be online (which almost certainly means you’ll need Xbox Live Gold on the Xbox). We’re hoping this will be amended at some point down the line. This new trailer is largely free of in-game cutscenes and rounds up the zombie slaughter you’ll be wading into.
The good news is that your survivors are theoretically immune so while the dead bearing down on them might be bad news, it’s not a case of one bite and you’re dead. Though if you’ve read the Left 4 Dead comic you’ll know there’s a potential twist there; wherever the story goes, there’ll be plenty of monster mayhem to be had.
Back 4 Blood will be launching on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC on 12th October and will also becoming to Xbox Game Pass on the day of release.
