DC-flavoured free and premium content is making its way to Hot Wheels Unleashed next month.
Have you any idea just how much Hot Wheels stuff exists? I didn’t, until I went shopping for something for my nephew’s birthday recently. There’s so much. Cars crossing over into just about every franchise you can think of, dozens upon dozens of track-based toys, and so much more. And so it only makes sense that Milestone would want to increase the offerings available in the recently-released Hot Wheels Unleashed.
Players of the game – and fans of DC properties – have two upcoming events to look forward to. From 11th November, a DC Super-Villains Racing Season will begin. And on 2nd December, a Batman Expansion DLC will become available.
The DC Super-Villains Racing Season offers both free and paid content for Hot Wheels Unleashed. Purchasing the season’s content will give access to six new DC villain-based vehicles:
- The Cheetah
- Black Manta
- Poison Ivy
- Harley Quinn
The season will also add in various new challenges for everyone to take part in, and completing them will unlock free goodies such as Basement and Player Profile customisation items. The DC Super-Villains Racing Season will begin on 11th November and will run through until 18th January 2022.
Next up is a paid Batman Expansion, coming to Hot Wheels Unleashed on 2nd December. This promises a “huge amount of new content”, including an all-new Gotham-inspired career map, a new Batcave environment, new track builder items and five themed vehicles:
- The Penguin
- Robin 2.0T
- Armored Batman
- Batman Rebirth
- The Joker GT
You can see the new Batcave environment, and the new track elements, including a rather cool Joker obstacle, in the trailer below.
If you have Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 1, the Batman Expansion will be included at no extra cost. The Hot Wheels Pass costs £24.99, and also includes access to 10 additional vehicles, three themed customisation packs and three track builder modules. The Batman Expansion can also be purchased separately.
Hot Wheels Unleashed is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch and PC. Find out more by reading our review here.
