Are you wondering whether you can play Far Cry 6 with a friend or two in co-op or multiplayer? Here’s what you need to know.
While Far Cry 6 has no additional online multiplayer modes outside of the main campaign, you can play in co-op. That means teaming up with either a friend or another random player to tackle the game’s main missions together. Here’s how you do it.
Co-op doesn’t become available in Far Cry 6 until you’ve completed the ‘Du or Die’ mission, which is a couple of hours into the game. Once you’ve completed that, you’ll see a pop-up message on screen letting you know that co-op is available.
To start co-op, bring up the in-game menu then select the icon with two avatars in the top right-hand corner of the screen – it’s just next to your gamerpic. From there, you can choose to play with a friend, search for a partner or choose to be a partner and receive offers.
You can also access co-op play by visiting any camp and speaking to the person in charge of ‘Special Operations’. Look for the blue diamond icon above their head. From there, you’ll be able to initiate a special mission where you’ll be paired up with a friend or a random player.
If you’re hoping to play the game in split-screen or local co-op? Sorry, that’s not an option. It’s online only.
