For Honor is crossing over with Dead by Daylight and the spooky event kicks off today.
It’s taken us all of four years to stop seeing multiplayer murder-em-up For Honor as For Hodor, imagining Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn kicking the face off a medieval knight. Now this new Dead by Daylight crossover event is set to confuse use once again. The good news is that, this time round, it’s a real thing; these two multiplayer murder-fests are coming together on For Honor’s home turf.
Running from October 21st to November 11th, Survivors of the Fog is a 4 player vs 4 player team battle, a variant on dominion mode. The gruesome twist is that Dead By Daylight’s Trapper will roam the battlefield, controlled by the game’s AI. He’ll indiscriminately murder anyone who gets in his way, as he does. And he’s very, very hard to stop.
The good news is that it’s not all about being murdered by a monster, you can engage in a bit of wilful slaughter yourself. You can unlock cosmetics and custom executions so that, even when the event has been and gone, when you kill someone you’ll hoist them onto a hook, Trapper style.
You can find full details of the event here. It’s certainly one of the cleverest crossovers we’ve seen in a while and goes beyond just throwing a bunch of skins into game. If you feel like taking the Trapper on, outside of Dead by Daylight, For Honor is available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
