Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition Joins PS Now in December

Grand Theft Auto III The Definitive Edition (1)

If you haven’t already seen the news, a trailer has just been released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

You can check it out here, if you like. It has also been revealed that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, just one of the three games included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on 11th November. That’s the same day that the digital version of the trilogy releases.

Don’t worry though, PlayStation gamers, as Rockstar is also providing a way for those with an PS4 or PS5 to gain access to one of the games in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition without having to buy the whole thing. Only it will be later – December, in fact.

Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition will be available via PlayStation Now on 7th December – that’s the same day that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launches physically. It doesn’t seem quite as good a deal as what Xbox Game Pass members are getting, but PS Now is cheaper overall. And remember, you don’t actually have to stream PS4 games using the service – you can download them to avoid lag and other streaming-related hiccups.

If you’re not in a rush to buy Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, it will definitely be worth giving Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition a try if you’re a PS Now subscriber. Though it’s not yet clear if each game in the trilogy will be available to buy separately. The inclusion of select games in various subscription services, then, may just be a marketing ploy to get players to try them and then buy the complete trilogy when they’re hooked.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launches digitally on 11th November for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC. A physical release is set for 6th December, on PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, and Switch
