If you’re thinking of picking up Diablo 2: Resurrected, you might be wondering how many players can work together in co-op.
Now over 20 years old, Diablo 2 comes from a time in which playing online wasn’t quite the normality as it is now. Or even co-op. Create an online character, however, and you’ll find that up to eight players can team up, ransacking the game’s world of its loot while hammering monsters left, right and centre. But be aware that loot is shared, so all the good stuff could be snatched away from right under your nose.
When it comes to offline characters, however, co-op is not an option at all. They can’t be taken online, you see, and Diablo 2: Resurrected has no local co-op options like Diablo 3. When you create an offline character, you’re settling in for a single-player experience only.
Those that want to play with others, then, will want to create online characters exclusively. There’s a benefit to it as well, in that online characters are saved on Battle.net, meaning whatever format you play on you can access them. And for those who like a bit of competition, PvP is also possible. So, you could team up with seven other players to tackle Hell’s hordes together, or you could all agree to turn hostile and see who’s character is the strongest.
So, how many players does Diablo 2: Resurrected support? Eight is the answer if you’re playing online. But only one if you’re playing offline.
