Developers Milestone have announced MXGP 2021 the latest entry in their official FIM Motocross World Championship series.
The announcement isn’t a huge surprise in itself, given Milestone have been putting out MXGP games for a while. We had a lot of fun with MXGP 2020 though, as we pointed out in our review, the career mode needed more depth, something we’re hoping MXGP 2021 will deliver.
What is surprising is how soon MXGP 2021; it’s arriving this November 30th, meaning it’s either been under wraps for a while or Milestone has just drawn a big 1 on the cover of MXGP 2020. We suspect it’s the former though, as with FIFA and its ilk, yearly releases don’t often include huge changes.
Like MXGP 2020, this year’s entry will sport a track editor and you’ll be able to use a massive number of real-world brands to customise your rider and bike. We did, briefly, wonder why there’s no custom livery creator but then we remembered what kind of off-putting logos you’d see riding around in multiplayer mode.
One feature, returning from previous titles, is the rewind feature. So, when you get too smug and end up in a ditch you can turn back time and carry on; not that we’d ever need that because we are absolutely the best motocross bikers ever. Honest.
You can get on your bike when MXGP 2021 hits the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) this November 30th.
