‘Reverse Horror’ Carrion is Out Today on PS4

PlayStation owners finally have the chance to devour Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital’s popular ‘reverse horror’ game, Carrion.

First released on PC, Switch and Xbox One in July 2020, Carrion is a side-scrolling action game with a difference. Rather than fending off monsters, you are the monster. A big, blobby, tentacled ball of terror, making your way around an underground facility, killing any human who dare stand in your way.

It’s bloody and grizzly, and no other game will have you devour so many humans in one sitting (well, apart from Maneater maybe). As you play, you’ll gain new skills, allowing you to evolve and grow and access new areas that you couldn’t before.

When we reviewed Carrion last year, here’s what we had to say:

Carrion is, for the most part, a bloody good game. It’s a real treat for horror fans and one of the most original games I’ve come across. There were so many moments that left me with a grin a mile wide, from pulling a string of victims up into the ceiling to turning a soldier against their former friends.”

Needless to say, then, if gore’s your thing, you’ll get a kick out of Carrion. It’s available from today on PS4 (and, of course, PS5 via backwards compatibility). If you’re a PS Plus subscriber and pick it up before 5th November, you’ll get a 20% discount; £12.79 instead of £15.99. It’s also available on PC, Switch and Xbox.
