In a new behind-the-scenes video, Choo-Choo Charles’ developer has revealed how the upcoming rail-based horror came to be.
Developer Gavin Eisenbeisz, aka Two Star Games is the solo developer creating Choo-Choo Charles, which sees you pursued by a malevolent spider-train. It’s horrifying stuff, as we could tell from the trailer, but this new behind-the-scenes video takes things to the next level.
Oh, sure, it’s also a great insight into indie development, in particular how Eisnbeisz has integrated purchased assets into the game. It shows him taking the island asset he purchased it, then modifying it so that it’s appropriately gloomy. However, the video also reveals the horrifying revelation behind Choo-Choo Charles himself.
In order to create the game’s spider-legged nemesis, Eisenbeisz took a train model and merged it with a spider model. No, not just the legs – as you can see in the below video, Choo-Choo Charles literally has a spider inside him. Sure, you won’t be able to see it because Charles’s model is on top of it, but it’s there.
Choo-Choo Charles is set to pull into the station next year, complete with integrated spider. In the mean time, you can wishlist it on Steam right here.
