How To Unlock the T-Rex in Jurassic World Evolution 2

Jurassic World Evolution

Are you playing Jurassic World Evolution 2 but can’t find the Tyrannosaurus rex? Here’s what you have to do to unlock it.

Tyrannosaurus rex, if you’re unfamiliar with Latin, literally means “If I see that clip with the jeep and the water glass again I’m going to bleed from my eyeballs.” But how do you unlock this majestic murderbeast? It’s all a matter of research.

What you need to do is create a park in a mode other than Sandbox Mode, preferably Challenge Mode since it’s free of restrictions, or John Hammond’s demands. Potter on as you normally would, raking in a decent amount of money, build a science centre, expedition centre and so on.

As soon as you can, start researching carnivore traits. You need to research them in this order:

Medium Carnivores 1, Medium Carnivores 2, Medium Carnivores 3, Large Carnivores 1 and finally Large Carnivores 2.

Sounds straight forward? Not quite, because once you get past the first couple of tiers you’ll have to do more than just throw money at your researchers. Eg, Medium Carnivores 3 requires a population of 3. The good news is that each tier will unlock a new dinosaur which, if you choose to create it, should give your park a boost.

When you unlock Large Carnivores 2 you’ll be ready to create your T-Rex, providing you’ve got the funds to gather its genome. You’ll have access to these sites:

Frenchman Formation 5, Hell Creek Formation C, Lance Formation Site C

You’ll need to send your expeditions to one or more of those sites, gathering at least 50% of the T-rex genome before you can make a T-rex. Then, complete the usual sequencing/hatching/releasing procedure and put them in an enclosure – preferably one of their own.

And there you go. The King of the Dinosaurs is yours to unleash on the pu.. er, we mean “for all to behold from a safe distance.”
