Duke Smoochem 3D, a tongue-in-cheek mod that sees Duke Nukem taking on London now has a glorious five minute work-in-progress video.
We first learnt of Duke Smoochem 3D’s existence last month, and were instantly smitten by its recreation of London, coupled with Britain’s absurdities. This Duke Nukem 3D mod has been labelled satire and while that’s technically true it’s uncomfortably close to reality. Sure, Mr Blobby may have sunk into near-obscurity, but supermarket scarcity is definitely a thing and a woman definitely did get stuck in a window trying to grab a poo.
Creator Dan Douglas has since released a five minute video of Duke Smoochem 3D in action, with more political and pop-culture references than you could shake a boomstick at. It’s even more amazing than the pictures and short clips Douglas has posted on his Twitter. We almost lost it completely at the footage of Theresa May dancing in a field of wheat.
There’s no word as to when Duke Smoochem 3D will be finished but we’re in no hurry to get our hands on it. Why? Because it’s such a joy checking out the new oddities that Douglas has added to the mod. It’s like opening an Advent Calendar, but instead of chocolate you get a striking reminder of Britain’s post-Brexit shame and you’re not sure whether to laugh or cry.
