Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royale!! is landing on Nintendo Switch!!!!
No, we didn’t need to slap four exclamation marks on the end of that statement, but we’re not letting ourselves be outdone by this card battler’s lengthy, punctuation-heavy title. We first got wind of Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royale!! back in July, though it didn’t have its western “battle royale” title. Back then it was just Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel and, while it had been out in Japan since April 2020, a Western release was on the way.
Now, publishers Konami have revealed that it’s hitting Western Nintendo Switches this December 7th. It’s set to be a more intense experience than your average Yu-Gi-Oh! game, primarily because it uses an alternate ruleset, taken from the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS animation.
From what we know so far, Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royale!!’s biggest draw is that your fortunes can change at any time. So, while you might think you’re comfortably ahead, there’s nothing to stop your opponent turning the tables. We’ve got mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it sounds like it makes for a more exciting game but on the other, won’t this strip the game of some of its strategy?
You can check out the trailer above, or get your hands on Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royale!! when it hits Nintendo Switch this December 7th.
