Those looking forward to Smilegate Entertainment’s CrossfireX are in for a nice surprise.
At The Game Awards, a new trailer for CrossfireX was revealed, giving gamers a closer look at its single-player campaign developed by Remedy Entertainment. Even better, a release date was revealed: CrossfireX will launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles on 10th February – that’s just two months away.
The single-player campaign for CrossfireX will feature two operations at launch: Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre. Set amidst a sprawling global conflict between Global Risk and Black List, two of the world’s most powerful private military factions, they’ll be accompanied by a full suite of multiplayer modes.
More will be revealed about CrossfireX ahead of its launch. What’s notable right now, however, is that its multiplayer modes will be free-to-play on Xbox platforms. So, you won’t have to spend any money to get involved if you’re not that bothered about the single-player campaign.
You perhaps should be bothered about it though, what with it being developed by Remedy. Games like Control and Alan Wake have proved that the developer can’t be beat when it comes to combining intense combat with gripping, cinematic storytelling.
