How to Save Your Game in Halo Infinite Campaign

Halo Infinite

Now with a sizeable open world to explore, the campaign on Halo Infinite is undoubtedly the biggest in the series yet.

The nature of the game means you now move pretty much seamlessly from one mission to the next, further immersing you into the action. Unless you want to sit in front of your TV for a solid 10-20 hours though, you’re not going to complete Halo Infinite in one go. So, you might be wondering how to save your game.

Unfortunately, during the Halo Infinite campaign, you have to rely on the game’s autosave system to record your progress for you; no manual save system is available. The good news is that Halo Infinite automatically saves your progress quite regularly, so if you do turn it off or encounter some kind of issues you shouldn’t lose much progress. Look out for the “saving progress” notification pop up on the left hand side of the screen.

There are some things to be aware of though. Halo Infinite won’t save when you’re in the middle of heated combat. If it’s a particularly long combat section, however, it sometimes pays to back off a little, as if the game deems you safe and healthy is sometimes prompts the game to create a checkpoint and maybe even save your progress.

The save system also isn’t flawless, especially when you’re out in the open world. For example, we quit the game after our progress had been saved, and when we resumed we had been parted from the Warthog we were driving and placed a little bit away from where we left off. Perhaps bear that in mind if you’re also driving a vehicle.
