Marvel’s Avengers has added new four-player Klaw Raids to the superhero brawler.
But don’t get too excited, that’s Klaw with a K, this isn’t the Inspector Gadget crossover we initially thought it was. Which is a shame, really, as we’d love to see Gadget put Tony Stark to shame.
Instead, the new content, available as of the latest 2.2 update, adds Klaw, a sonic-based villain intent on pillaging Wakanda. Apparently you can’t just whip out a white noise generator, you have to team up with three other players to take them on.
The 2.2 update also includes “Shipments”, a new method of earning cosmetics that.. well, we’ll let Square Enix explain it..
“Each Shipment costs 500 Units (the currency earned while playing the game) and pulls from a collection of nearly 250 possible items, with a small chance of rewarding a premium Outfit unavailable via any other means of acquisition. But luck isn’t required to get the Outfit; players will automatically receive it after claiming 100 Shipments.”
Yes, it’s not luck-based because, after you’ve purchased 100 Shipments you get the cosmetic anyway. We wish we could wrap our heads around that thinking but there’s not enough gin in the whole of England for it to make sense.
2.2 is the same update that adds Spider-Man, though since Spidey is a PlayStation exclusive character you’ll need a PS4 or PS5 to play as him. The update is available across all platforms, though the PC update was originally delayed a day.
