If you were patiently waiting for the next-gen console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 to land before jumping in, the time has finally come.

CD Projekt Red has announced that the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are launching today. And of course, anyone who has already purchased the game on either Xbox One or PS4 is eligible for a free upgrade.

Next-gen (or should that be current-gen now?) improvements include 4K resolution with dynamic scaling, faster loading times, ray tracing features, and a variety of other technical and visual improvements. New content has also been added, and PS5 gamers even get DualSense controller support, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

When the update goes live, Xbox gamers won’t have to do anything to take advantage of the enhancements thanks to Smart Delivery – the Xbox Series X/S will install the necessary files and game saves will seamlessly move across. On PS5, however, players will need to download a native version of the game and import their PS4 save if they wish.

Those who have yet to try Cyberpunk 2077 will be happy to hear that they can make use of a 5-hour free trial on both Xbox Series X/S and PS5. After that, they can purchase the game and carry forward their progression if they wish. The free trial is only available until 20th March, however.

Videos showcasing Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay on both PS5 and Xbox Series X can be watched below. And if you want to find out more about the game, you can read our glowing review of the PC version.
