House Flipper 2 Has Been Announced For a 2023 Release

House Flipper 2

House Flipper 2 is currently in development and is pencilled in for a 2023 release.

Developer Empyrean and publisher Frozen District tweeted out a teaser trailer, confirming that the sequel to house renovation game House Flipper is in the works. Like Power Washing Simulator it’s a title that carved its own niche, though the rise of house renovation programs may also have had something to do with that.

House Flipper, which also has a wealth of DLC, challenges you to renovate a house to the point where you can make a profit, cleaning it up, fixing windows, putting new furniture in and so forth. The idea, as is the case in the real world, is to sell the property at a profit though just sitting back and looking at your handiwork is very fulfilling.

However, not everyone is happy about House Flipper 2’s announcement. Console players have pointed out that while House Flipper (which began life on the PC) is available for Xbox and PlayStation, a great deal of the DLC isn’t. The awesome-looking Apocalypse DLC, for example, is PC only. There are two more pieces of PC DLC in the works, but the apparent shift in focus to a sequel has left some console-owning House Flipper purchasers cold.

Frozen District reposted a statement they made at the end of January, stating that one reason is that Sony’s processes/procedures doesn’t allow it to put out content that’s rated higher than the main game. So, in the case of the Apocalypse DLC, which sees you designing a nuclear bunker, its apocalyptic themes make it a no-go for PlayStation.

The company isΒ  working on porting the Luxury DLC but having five pieces of DLC on PC and one on console is not a great look. It could, potentially, put some people off purchasing House Flipper 2’s console incarnation (assuming it gets one). Here’s hoping Frozen District and Empyrean have sorted it out before House Flipper 2’s 2023 release.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
