Riders Republic is Getting a Free Weekend and Handful of Prada Outfits

Riders Republic

Riders Republic, the extreme sports game that launched last October will be available to play for free all this weekend, on consoles.

On top of that, you’ll be be able to win Prada outfits for your character to wear as they hurl themselves down a hill at high velocity. Yes, since Riders Republic is intended to be played online (though you can play offline if you want), you’ll be an in-game advertisement for a fashion chain. But at least Ubisoft isn’t expecting you to pay outright for the outfits, unlike The Sims.

And, if we’re honest, some of the outfits are pretty eye-catching. The Wild Stripes kit is particularly cool to look at, once you realise that no-one has actually skinned a zebra to make it. We, of course, know about famed fashion house Prada because we’re well informed and not just because of that one movie with Meryl Streep. You can find out how you earn the kit by visiting Ubisoft’s Prada partnership page, but it’s basically a matter of completing challenges.

The challenges, and in-game “Prada Sponsorship” are available from today. There’s no end-date to the Prada promotion though we reasonably assume it won’t be around forever. The free weekend is, as the name suggests, far more finite. Between the 10th and 14th of February you’ll be able to play Riders Republic for free on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4. The PC, unfortunately, isn’t included in this promotion.

If Riders Republic does hook you, you’ll be able to purchase the full game at a discount of up to 50% off. And if not, you can always boot it off the mountain and reclaim your hard disk space. What have you got to lose?

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
