RPG Brawler Young Souls Gears Up For a March Release Date

Young Souls

Young Souls, a side-scrolling brawler with RPG elements, is arriving on PC and consoles this March.

It began life as a Google Stadia exclusive and follows the adventures of Jenn and Tristran, teenage siblings who discover a portal to a monster-filled dimension. Yes, the sensible thing might be to brick it up and get the hell out of there, but they’ve got a reason to exploring, other than abject stupidity.

Their foster carer, a well-meaning professor, has disappeared into the portal and it’s up to them to rescue him. So, playing as Jenn, Tristran or both (the game lets you tag between the two as well as supporting co-op) you’ve got to roam your town by day, arming up as you see fit, then plunge into the portal at night.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on a preview version of Young Souls in September of last year, and we came away impressed. We got a real kick out of the intense combat and were impressed by the gorgeous, almost papercraft-like graphics. We were certainly left wanting more.

So we’re happy to learn that Young Souls is arriving this March 10th and, to whet your appetite for the goblin and mecha-bashing brawler, developer 1P2P Studio has released an extended trailer, highlighting a few of the game’s mechanics. RPG fans should be happy as there’s an absolute wealth of weapons and armour you can weigh your characters down with.

Young Souls is set to slash its way onto PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this March 10th. You can check out the trailer above or wishlist it on Steam here.

And if you do discover a glowing portal in your basement, it’s a good idea to at least shove a dresser in front of it.
